How to Copy Files to a USB Device with Microsoft's New OS - iWindows 7...

The good news for users of Windows 7 is that Microsoft generally stick to a tested formula with their software, meaning commands and processes are not too far removed from the previous version of windows (Windows Vista). To quickly copy/backup a file or files onto a USB device is just as easy as before by following the below easy steps.

  1. Locate the file/s you wish to copy onto a USB device using Windows Explorer
  2. Select the file/s
  3. Right click on any selected file/s
  4. Left click “Copy”
  5. Now insert the USB device, Click on “Scan and Fix (recommended)” if Windows prompts
    Select the option “Open Folder to View Files”, this will open a new window that corresponds to the inserted USB device
  6. Right click in the window, and then left click “Paste”
  7. You will know see the document you selected to be copied/backup inside the window for the USB device
