LANDCARE Illawarra hopes to send a green message to Illawarra residents when it hosts a seminar on the region's sustainability.

The evening will be presented by Andy Best, who was trained by climate change leader Al Gore.

Australia leads the world in greenhouse gas emissions, with every Australian sending 27 tonnes into the atmosphere every year.

The greenhouse gas emissions are now twice the rate they were 20 years ago.

Landcare Illawarra said the sooner we adapted, the cheaper it would be.

The free presentation will be held next Thursday at the Heininger Hall, Ribbonwood Centre in Dapto, starting at 7pm.
